Anna Pitchouguina of PITCHOUGUINA took a few minutes to answer my style inspiration questions.
What is your definition of style? Definitely wearable design, both casual and feminine at the same time.
Which are your favourite fabrics to design with? Wools, linens and textured light mixes with some subtle details. It's a little bit of an obsession - "subtle detail"
What inspires you when you create collections? Mostly people and all the things that happen around me. People in different situations, from a stroll in the park to a coffee shop.
It kind of sets the mood each season. After that it's all up to the fabrics, the shapes are at the end of this cycle.
What is the starting point for your designs? Always the fabric. Fabric sourcing is one of the most exciting part of the design for me.
Do you have a style mantra? I don't think I have one that stuck to me yet.
Is travel important to you in terms of inspiring your designs? I try to travel as often as I can. I never travel specifically for inspiration but I think that whenever you travel - people and places around you will inspire you, even if just subconsciously, so yes, I think travel is very important.
What are your favourite places to visit? I love to go to the same coffee shops over and over again - does that count?
Finally, which are your favourite pieces from the AW15 collection? Dotted Wool Mini Skirt and Yellow Midi skirt with cropped tops - wearing those already!
