Haider Ackermann Spring 2015

As the nights are slowly drawing out and we’re getting ever closer to that elusive spring, I’m taking a look back to my favourite collection for the upcoming season that was unveiled last September. Haider Ackermann at Paris Fashion Week.

The Edgbaston

I’m a big fan of a boutique hotel. I’m a big fan of my home city, Birmingham. The two have crossed over at delightfully-decadent The Edgbaston. There’s more than a spattering of art deco in the décor, especially in the cocktail lounge and public spaces. In contrast, the rooms have a reserved, classic take on contemporary design with plenty of original features.

Magpie On The Run

At the end of last year, I ran a competition to win a gorgeous Charlotte Valkeniers ring from Magpie On The Run. Well, good news. If you’re a jewellery magpie, then I might have just made your life a whole lot better… READ MORE

Nike Nike Nike

And Other Stories - New Nike Story
A gorgeous collaboration between a street wear stalwart and a newer kid on the fashion block – Nike and & Other Stories has lead to a renewed appreciation for all things with a swoosh.

Brand Focus: Suite One Studio

Seriously, have you ever seen crockery so gorgeous? I want to eat these ceramics from Suite One Studio, never mind eat off them. The sumptuous jewel colours ceramics are mis-shaped and full of imperfections. Perfect.

Hint of Spring

Christmas and New Year are a distant memory. I’ve been back at work for an eternity. Surely, SURELY we’re going to start seeing hints of spring? I’ve been looking forward to warmer months and getting myself out of this seasonal funk by manically pinning anything warm-looking. Join me?

Brand focus: Lantern Sense

Lantern Sense is an independent luxury ready-to-wear label, established in Hong Kong. These images are from the SS15 collection, Life In The City – minimal and clean, the collection is edgy and refined – perfect for the modern, urban woman.

The collection is timeless and futuristic at the same time. Simple silhouettes emboldened with flashes of colour and detailed landscapes. Pure white garments sit alongside deep blue checks. According to designers Trevor Ng and Lala Yeung, they aim ‘to evoke conversation, reaction and interaction through sensory stimulated design’. Luxurious fabrics and sheer panels mean that each look can be worn from day to night. Versatility is the constant theme, resulting in a wearable and chic collection. I want it all.

Meet: Sofa Sofa

I’d like to introduce my latest sponsor, SofaSofa. There are a lot of sofa companies out there to choose from – trust me, I spend a LOT of my time looking at new sofas. I’ve recently purchased a lovely two seater, but it is time to replace the three seater that my parents had as a wedding present. In 1975. It’s a black leather sofa from 1970s Habitat and I absolutely love it. My boyfriend is less enamoured however and relationships are all about compromise blah blah blah… Anyway, stay with me.

Oversized silhouettes have been an increasingly common trend for several seasons now, but this year the cocoon coat with a soft egg shape and dropped shoulders has taken on a new popularity…
