We’ve been in our new place just over a year now. It’s a ground floor flat in a converted Victorian building and one of the first things we did when we moved in was reinstall French doors in the lounge leading out to the garden. For some reason, a previous resident had removed the doors and replaced it with a small window, making the room pretty dark. The new doors gave the flat a new lease of life, but since then we’ve been looking out onto our garden which was a scrap of lawn surrounded by rubble.
A short interview with Renli Su, designer of the eponymous label, discussing her inspirations, her design process and which pieces of her collection she can’t live without.
What is your definition of luxury?
Wearable and practical garments in timeless styles that last beyond the season. I find when you use the highest quality fabrics and traditions you reach a new kind of luxury.
Luxury and ethical – two words to summarise German fashion label, Bélier. The designer, Hanna Erz, graduated in Fashion Design in Germany, before moving to London to continue her studies and eventually starting work on Bélier in 2013.
I’ve spent a lot of time in Cornwall during my life. I like to think of myself as more than just another tourist flocking there on an annual basis – I have lots of Cornish family and somehow I feel like this excludes me from the term ’emmett’. Unfortunately I think it makes me exactly the type the Cornish are referring to when they use the word. Oh well.
Pre-amble aside, I’ve had plenty of beautiful meals in Cornwall but I wouldn’t really associate the area with American-diner style fare. So I was more than pleasantly surprised when we ate at The Cornish Barn, the Cornwall-meets-USA cafe/diner at Artist Residence, Penzance.

Summer is just around the corner and we’ve been having some sunny Spring days recently. Perfect opportunity to wear the most glam thing I own, this glasses chain from FRAMECHAIN. Can’t wait to wear it on holiday this summer. Paired with all black everything, as all sunny day outfits should be…! READ MORE
I’ve been a fan of Daughter of Jón for a couple of years now. The founder, Hedi, has lived all over Europe, from Iceland, to Vienna and Barcelona and is now based in London, where the brand is based. It’s been great to watch her label develop and see the exciting collections she designs each season. And all that hard work has paid off, Daughter of Jon is now stocked in Topshop’s Oxford Circus store.
Rae Feather is a British womenswear brand, designing beautiful, luxurious wardrobe staples, with equally beautiful fabrics. I took a few moments to catch up with the eponymous founder of Rae Feather, to get a glimpse behind the scenes and the inspiration for her collections.
What is your definition of luxury?
Cashmere is a great luxury. There is nothing like putting on a cashmere sweater or scarf when it’s chilly and instantly feeling cosy and warm….
2015 seems to be the year of new beginnings in Birmingham. Grand Central is opening, the Mailbox redevelopment will be completed, the Resorts World complex opens its doors and the long-awaited New Street will be finished..
But my favourite new thing is the ever-so stylish Everyman Cinema in the Mailbox.

Tforia is a beautiful selection of home, clothing and jewellery brands. The concept behind the website is perhaps best described by Tforia themselves:
Are you happy with the amount of hours required to sift through Etsy to secure a special item? Is it easy to outbid a competitor on Ebay for a one of a kind piece?
With a selection of over 250 shops, Tforia delivers a convenient way to discover and procure fine unique products.
And they certainly deliver on that promise. It’s an absolute delight to click through the delicious website and it’s easy to lose an afternoon perusing their collection of unique brands. Here is my own little selection of their home brands:
